The TACHERIA School for Spiritual Direction is an Interfaith training program of those called to a vocation of spiritual direction. Encompassing the beliefs of Buddhists, Christians, Jews and Muslims, the school is open to ordained and non-ordained men and women. In order to complete the school, students participate in two years of class sessions that are both didactic and experiential and are held monthly on the second Saturday through ten months. A weekend retreat is also held each year. Faculty members are from many spiritual disciplines. Learning in the school is both didactic and experiential. Course members are asked to share their own experience and concerns as an important part of the learning process. A text is selected for each class and an additional reading list is available for class members who are expected to read at their own pace and interest. Enrollment is limited and a genuine commitment to attending all of the sessions is important. Students in the classes of 2010 and 2011 will meet together for faculty presentations but there are also opportunities for the individual classes to meet separately. Starting Sep 2011 We are now accepting applications for the next interfaith course in the training of those called to a vocation of spiritual direction. The course encompasses the beliefs of the world’s major religions and is open to ordained and non-ordained men and women. Spiritual leaders from many disciplines make up the faculty and share their insights, knowledge, wisdom and experience during the two years of the class. The course will begin in September, 2011 and will occur monthly on the second Saturday from 8:30 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. for two ten-month sessions. There is also a weekend retreat each year. Interviews for the course will be conducted by Linda Williams, co-director, as applications are received, to discuss with each student the appropriateness of the course and mutual expectations. Learning in the school is both didactic and experiential. Course members are asked to share their own experience and concerns as an important part of the learning process. A text is selected for each class and an additional reading list is available for class members who are expected to read at their own pace and interest. |
