The Board




Sanjay Manchanda Ph.D. has been a transpersonal counselor for fifteen years in Tucson. He has studied meditation and yoga for twenty years. He is a former UA Computer Science professor who changed careers in response to his inner calling. He also has a Master’s in Psychology with a Jungian emphasis. He also has a Master’s in Psychology with a Jungian emphasis, and has a private practice in transpersonal counseling, and marriage & family therapy. His practice combines Meditation, Self-inquiry, Depth psychology, EEG biofeedback and Bodywork.

Judy Moses was formerly a massage therapist, teacher, assembly worker and fast food flinger; she currently works as an office manager in the non-profit world.  She graduated from the Tacheria School for Spiritual Direction in 2008, and found her experience to be life-altering.  Judy delights in examining the mystery that is life, and is endlessly fascinated with human nature.  Catholic by birth, Jewish by choice and Interfaith because she knows there are many paths, she feels that the multi-faceted approach makes life richer.  As a 30+ year resident of Tucson, she loves the desert but needs to get away occasionally for an ocean fix.  Without ever having had children, she takes great joy in being a grandma to her partner’s grandchildren. 

Nan Rubin, L.C.S.W. Nan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years experience as a psychotherapist working holistically with individual, couples, and families. She is a member of the National Academy of Certified Social Workers, a Diplomate with the American Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, and Certified Level III Reiki Practitioner. Nan is a graduate of Tacheria School for Spiritual Direction and has led seminars on Jewish Spiritual Direction for Tacheria and Hesychia School for Spiritual Direction.. She and her husband have been residents of Tucson for several years, drawn to the mountains and desert beauty.

Betty Stauffer, LBSW, is the Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers of Tucson. She graduated from Tacheria School for Spiritual Direction in 2004. Betty’s research focus while obtaining her social work degree was the link between spirituality and social work. She was a retreat team leader in the Presbytery of the Western Reserve in Ohio for over 10 years before moving to Tucson in 2000. She has two grown children and three delightful grandchildren. Betty is an avid baseball fan and she and her partner enjoy their cats, the desert and mountains around Tucson, and eating out with friends. 

Julie Stewart is a graduate of Tacheria.  She worked in the public schools system as a Reading and Writing teacher, Computer Tech, and Teacher's Aide.  Julie is a private tutor for the company Learning Skills Unlimited and on the Site Council for her children's high school.  She currently is the Director of Children and Youth Ministries at the Episcopal Church of Saint Matthew, and is also the youth group leader.  She works with a local dance company called A Time to Dance as the stage manager.  She also finds being in nature spiritually uplifting.  Julie finds importance in spirituality with children and wants to aide them on their path.  Being a Spiritual Director has assisted her in her efforts.
 

Frank R. Williams is President of the Board of Directors. Presently he is Social Services Director at Casa de la Luz Hospice. Previous to his service with hospice he was in several positions, including Executive Director of Family Counseling Agency (now Our Family Services) and before that served twenty years on the Family Studies faculty at the University of Arizona. He is a United Methodist minister and served churches in California and Arizona and was founding pastor of St. Francis in the Foothills, United Methodist. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona, his Masters of Sacred Theology from Boston University School of Theology and his doctorate from Boston University.

Linda Williams, a Spiritual Director since 1995 is co-director of the Tacheria Interfaith School of Spiritual Direction.  Her spiritual direction practice is from an Interfaith perspective that is open to all persons, accepting of LGBT, and with special focus on life transitions and women’s spirituality. Linda is a retreat leader with special emphasis on creation of sacred spaces.  She is a graduate of the Academy for Spiritual Formation of the United Methodist Church, Tacheria School of Spiritual Direction, and the Education for Ministry of the University of the South.  A trained member of the Order of St. Luke, the Healer, she is also a trained supervisor in the Stephen Ministry  program.
